Zack Knight talks Music, Bollywood and the Future

What’s it like breaking into the Bollywood Scene?
Zack – It’s been a dream so far and it has opened more opportunities for me. I’m still trying to get my head around the whole actor’s singing to your song thing, so that will take some getting used to.
It sure will, the cast have used some of your dance moves in the video – how do you feel about that?
Zack – I was so impressed with the crazy breakdance moves i didn’t realise! It’s really cool that Bollywood are taking inspiration from what we’re doing over here in the UK
How long did it take you to write Bom Diggy?
Zack – I usually make a rough instrumental and then mumble some melodies and then write the lyrics at the end. From the beat to the melodies for Bom Diggy, it took me around 15 minutes. The drop part where the ‘Folk Vocal Sample’ was used, took months of going back and forth, until i was right. I think i made over 50 versions of the song and sent it to Jasmin and Khiza until we were all happy.
Do you think this is your more global success and why?
Zack – Yeah, its one of the most successful releases alongside ‘’Galtiyan’’, ”Nakhre” & ”Enemy’’. I think the word ‘Bom Diggy’’ is super memorable and has such a universal meaning that any language or culture can bounce to it, so that would have definitely helped with its success. Lot’s of Bollywood actors and actresses started to embrace the song write early over social media, which created alot of attention and snapchat made their own custom filter, so we have tons of support.
Will you be producing more music in Bollywood and is there anyone you would like to collaborate with?
Zack – Yeah i hope so, i’m just trying to be super careful that i don’t compromise on my own sound, whilst keeping it fresh and edgy
